Games, food, music and drinks
all benefiting children at our local NC hospitals
It's not just about fun
Every day, a deck of cards, a doll or a stuffed animal puts a smile on the face of a child who hasn’t smiled in quite some time. Zach’s Toy Chest donates new, unwrapped toys all throughout the year to North Carolina children’s hospitals for kids that are undergoing cancer treatments. They ensure that every child has a gift for the holidays, birthdays, rotten days and most importantly, a little something to serve as a reward for their courage in fighting cancer.
Zach’s Toy Chest provides items to thousands of patients who are treated in our local hospitals. Toys also help stock playrooms and treasure chests in different areas of each hospital. ZTC does not receive any funding from federal, state or local government to accomplish our mission. We depend on the support and generosity of each donor, corporate partner and the success of this evening to help kids focus on play and not cancer. We look forward to seeing everyone at the event this year!
What we do
Zach’s Toy Chest was originally created to provide the children receiving cancer treatments something to pass the time with and make their day a little brighter. Our mission has been to help them focus on fun and play – not cancer, not the hospital. Cancer takes so much from us and the kids that they need this…and it helps the adults too. Over the last few years, ZTC has grown tremendously and we are now able to supply both in and out patient areas of both Duke and UNC Children’s Hospitals. We are currently working to get to this point at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville, NC as well. This is an important milestone for us because it means that all kids at the hospitals will receive something as their reward for being courageous as they face adversity.
The toy chest provides items to thousands of patients who are treated in eastern North Carolina children’s hospitals. Toys also help stock playrooms in the hospitals.
Playing is essential when a child is undergoing difficult treatment or procedures due to cancer and other critical illnesses. Providing a new game or toy and watching a smile light up a child’s face is a special moment for families, staff and volunteers.
An amazing night full of surprises and fun!
Enter the building through the main lobby where volunteers from Zach's Toy Chest and Safelite AutoGlass will greet and show you to the elevators leading up to the check in table and an amazing night of fun!
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone and introducing a special family that has been touched by Zach's Toy Chest.
Gaming and Silent Auction
Let the games begin! Blackjack, poker and roulette will be the games of the evening. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served along with a cash bar so bring your appetite to keep your energy up at the tables! Volunteers will be walking around with extra chips if you don't happen to have lady luck on your side. The silent auction will be going on as well - make sure you have the GoRaiser app installed and ready to go so you don't miss out on all the goodies up for grabs!
Time to find out who won
All gaming comes to an end and everyone turns in any remaining chips. The player with the most chips will win something special.
